BTW, Deanna Yusof is Mastura in the horror movie 'Chermin'. No kissing scene there. Ghost don't kiss. She is the restless spirit called Mastura who lives within an antique mirror. Deanna fan should go to see the movie.

Despite being raised in Europe, Deanna – who is of Malay-Swiss parentage – believes in other beings that exist in different dimensions. “I’m open to ideas and I have seen strange things. But I’m not going to live in fear.”

She said a couple of strange things had happened on the Chermin set in Janda Baik, Pahang. “There was one time when I got the whiff of kemenyan (incense) while shooting in the living room and I was the only one who smelt it. Someone told me the smell meant the presence of a spirit, and that it was after me, but in a nice way.” Deanna also shared how she had seen actor Chow Yun Fatt go around with joss sticks on the set of Anna and the King (1999), which was filmed here, as a precaution because he was portraying a non-fictional character.

Although she has been in the industry for nearly 15 years now, the 40-year-old is always trying her hand at new things. One of her latest passions is performing jazz numbers. To be a singer, one need to perform. Deanna's jazz is not the belting out type of singing but more towards the kind of jazz sung by American singer Stacy Kent.

Apologise to Malaysians if you’re the one!

A police reports was made against Deanna Yusof. It was reported in local daily the Malay Mail dated 10th of June 2007 that The Malaysian Indian-Muslim Congress demanded that Deanna Yusof apologise to Muslims in the country for her kissing scene, if it is proven that it was her in the clip. Deanna Yusof or someone 'look like her' was depicted French-kissing an Asian-looking man in an 18-second clip which is being widely circulated in internet and also via e-mail. It was first reported by Weekend Mail two weeks ago.

This is what its secretary-general, Kamal Batcha Noor Mohideen said:

“We feel ashamed when a Muslim woman, especially a celebrity, is captured kissing someone who is not her husband, in a production meant for viewers. Although the scene she appeared in was for a Singaporean television series, it still shouldn’t have happened as she’s a Muslim and a Malaysian. We are extremely disappointed with the actress’s indecent act. It degrades the dignity of Muslims and Malaysians in general, as well as tarnishing the image of this country. This is, after all, a Muslim country. Therefore, she needs to apologise.”
