Pada 1991, dugaan menimpa apabila beliau kehilangan anak bongsunya, Allahyarham Norhayati yang meninggal dunia selepas diserang demam panas. Daud’s stressed out by sodomy allegation— By MASAMI MUSTAZAMalay Mail 2nd May 2007: DATUK M. Daud Kilau is having sleepless nights and losing his appetite. The 68-year-old evergreen crooner told The Malay Mail that the allegation that he had sodomised a 19-year-old youth on two occasions in January and April last year at his flat in Setapak, had put him under severe stress. The allegations came to light after the teen, who claimed to have been his assistant, lodged a report at Sentul police headquarters last Wednesday. Denying the allegations, Daud said: “It’s up to my fans and the public to decide whether they want to believe me or not but I will never stoop so low as to commit such a vile act. I have been humiliated by the allegations made by the youth but I believe that this is all a test from God, and I shall persevere.” Daud, dubbed Raja Gelek for his famous hip-swirling trademark denied that the youth used to be his assistant. “I have never hired an assistant. I only have a public relations person or it will be one of my sons who accompanies me when I go for performances and recordings,” he said. Daud said he met the youth for the first time in July last year while shopping at a supermarket. “He came up to me and struck up a conversation. We exchanged numbers before parting ways but we never contacted each other or met up after that,” he claimed. “The second time I met him, my son and I were about to go to a performance at Danga Bay in Johor Baru. I ran into him in my neighbourhood. He asked if he could come along. I was fine with that so we took him along,” he said, adding that they dropped him off at a supermarket in Wangsa Maju the next morning when they got back. Their most recent meeting was on April 18 when the singer went for a recording session at Alam Sentral in Shah Alam. Daud claimed he met the youth at the ground floor of his flat when the latter came up to him to exchange pleasantries. The youth, he claimed, had asked if he could come along to watch the recording and Daud agreed. The youth left a backpack allegedly filled with clothes at Daud’s flat before they drove off to pick up his public relations staff in Taman Datuk Harun before making their way to Alam Sentral. “We reached my flat at 9pm after dropping off my public relations staff at her home. The boy took a shower, then I did, before telling me he wanted to go down to get a burger. While I was praying in the living room, I noticed that he had left the backpack but thought nothing of it until an hour had come and gone without him returning,” claimed Daud. “That was when he called me to say that he had stolen RM1,608 and a digital camera from me and that he was at Puduraya bus station because he didn’t have the guts to face me after what he had done,” he said. After much cajoling and then threatening to lodge a police report, the youth showed up at Setapak police station to ‘settle’ the matter with Daud. After the youth was released on bail, he lodged a report claiming that the Datuk had allegedly sodomised him. When asked why he had brought the youth back to his flat, he answered: “His bag was in my flat. Anyway, he didn’t tell me where to drop him off or where he was headed to. I thought I’d ask him once we reached my flat.” Kuala Lumpur CID police chief SAC II Ahmad Ibrahim said Daud’s statement had been recorded at Sentul police headquarters on Sunday. |
