Fazura ordered to enter her defence

The Star, KUALA LUMPUR: "Gol & Gincu” star Fazura was ordered by a magistrate’s court here yesterday to enter her defence on a charge of causing hurt to a housewife three years ago. Magistrate Aizatul Akmal Maharani fixed Feb 12 to hear the defence after ruling that the prosecution had made a prima facie case against the actress. Fazura, 23, whose real name is Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, is charged with causing hurt to Geraldine Mariana Wong, 31, at Luna Bar, located at the Pacific Regency Hotel & Apartments, here at about 1.20am on Dec 19, 2004. – Bernama

Actress, hostest and VJ Nur Fazura Sharifuddin was born in Pekan, Pahang in 27th September 1983. The star of 'Gol & Gincu' and 'Qaisy & Laila' movies. The winner of the Malaysian Film Festival’s Most Promising Actress award (2004). She won the award with only her first movie, 'Bicara Hati'in which she played Noraini, a student infatuated with her teacher. Her other film is 'Senario XX. She also co-hosting a TV reality show 'Olay Total White Aspirasiku'. She owed it all to the famous radio deejay Halim Othman who introduced her to producer-director Datin Rosnani Jamil who directed 'Bicara Hati'. Later, Datin Rosnani recommended her to producer Ruhani Rahman and Habsah Hassan who are looking for a leading lady in 'Qaish & Laila, alongside actor Jehan Miskin. Hosted a show called Teens World on RTM2 before went into acting in 2002. Was offered to do a movie many times but she declined because she wanted to concentrate on her study. At last all those offers were so tempting so she grabbed one of them - a leading role in 'Bicara Hati.' Hoping to be a recording artiste. Love R&B. Her best friend is actress and host Cheryl Samad.

The Charge
Nur Fazura is a constant visitor of the court now. She is accused of assaulting 32-year-old Geraldine Mariana Wong with a high-heeled sandal at Bar Luna, Pacific Regency Hotel and Apartments at Jalan Kia Peng on Dec 19, 2004 at 1.20am. Who is Geraldine Mariana Wong? She is ex-wife of Ezra Effendi (son of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohd Effendi Norwawi).

Fight over a man?
It was testified in the magistrate court that the 'catfight' between Nur Fazura and Geraldine Mariana Wong was over a man, Ahmad Razman Ahmad Razali (the 30-year-old son of the late Tan Sri Ahmad Razali Mohd Ali, a former Selangor Mentri Besar). It started with 'pandang memandang'. Nur Fazura went to Geraldine when she heard some remarks about her. Geraldine said that she was only said 'awak cantik'. Then she mentioned something about her seducing a guy. Pushing each other started and ended with a catfight. Nur Fazura used her high-heeled sandal as a weapon.

Well, in this real version of life Nur Fazura is no more the good-girl 'Noraini' of the 'Gold & Gincu' movie.

Crime Does'nt Pay
If convicted, Nur Fazura faces a maximum one year's jail, or fine of RM2,000 or both. That's not cool.
